Guess Where We Ate Last Night...

Does that spell out delicious or what? It wasn't the greatest chinese food ever, but not bad either. Our fortune cookies advice:

Other Happenings

We also had a primary activity on Friday the 20th (first official day of Summer). It was a Family History Day. We had a storytime with Sister Price. She told us some family stories and told us how learning about our ancestors can be fun and interesting. She explained that we can make sure their temple work is done to keep that family chain connected. We love our temples! The kids then got to make their own family tree by filling in their names and adding red pom-poms for each person (like apples). It was a fun little craft. The weather was still decent so we ended with some traditional outside games like red rover and freeze tag. The kids loved that part! Just as the first few raindrops began to spill down we handed out popsicles and sent the kids home with a recipe book filled with favorite family recipes we had collected from their parents. It was a pretty easy activity but a fun one for the kids.

My calendar emptied out after that-literally. It's kind of neat to see blank white squares again. Well, I couldn't have it easy for too long...

Monday we had quite the downpour. Water started puddling in my closet and under the wall into the office. It seems there was a hole in the outside wall (of course-right?). So for the last two days I've been at the shopvac every time it rains and the dehumidifier is going nonstop. It smells terrible in my room!
It has made me realize, however, that one: I have a lot of shoes and clothes, and two: I need to dejunk once again. I have been going through a lot of stuff. I have also mended many of my sewing jobs. So, I guess there is a silver lining-I am getting a lot done. Oh and my landlord has been AWESOME with helping us get everything fixed.

Okay, I think my blog is officially Up To Date!

Tim's First Scouting High Adventure

What a fun weekend for Tim! Zac was able to go with Tim for the first part of their weekend. The scouts hiked up Mt. Washington. It's a pretty steep hike. Tim did great!

All Stars Baseball Game

Tim's coach nominated him to play in the league's AAA All-Star Baseball game. The game was a little more intense and fun to watch. The teams ended up tying. Cool!

Zoo and Graduation Pictures

It's been quite the month-very busy! I'm trying to catch up...

I was able to go with Tyson on his kindergarten field trip to the Franklin Park Zoo.

I think they enjoyed this slide more than seeing any of the animals...

Have you ever enjoyed a sandwich so much...

Ms. Galluzzo's Kindergarten Class 2008 patiently waiting for the bus.

It was enough to wear out half the kids most of which napped on the way back to school. Tyson was no exception. Don't ask me how he slept...

Graduation Speeches

Tonight was Tim's 5th grade graduation ceremony (will post pictures later). It was a wonderful night and was indeed a celebration. As AHS's principal Skidmore mentioned, it is a group smart enough to have a tv show in their name (Are You Smarter Than A 5TH Grader?). I was pretty proud.

It reminded me of the fact that J.K. Rowling spoke at Harvard's commencement. I felt curious enough to search out her address. A friend who had attended told me it was a fantastic speech. I read it here and found it absolutely inspiring. I wanted to share it with my buds. So...read it and tell me your thoughts.

One of my favorite parts-(a quote she shared)from the Greek author Plutarch: What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality.
